Delicious Diary Entry
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"
My name is Ms.Delicious Diary, and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it, as you will see when you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary, see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food diary entries.
Dear Diary: The Scary Scale!
Super Size-It Sally:
Sweet-Tooth Twinkie was celebrating her weight loss with what else? Twinkies! Her favorite food and the reason she gained all her weight in the first place. She loves all things sweet, but she is trying to have more control of her huge sweet tooth. She has lost 15 pounds as of her last weigh-in. She got a wake-up call when she went to the doctor and he told her she was pre-diabetic. She knew she had to do something fast. Now instead of keeping boxes of twinkies in her house, she has to make a special trip to the store to get one, and most of the time it's just not worth the effort. That little trick has saved her from eating hundreds of calories in twinkies. It all comes down to the tricks you know. Now that she is losing weight, she is the first one in line to get weighed. She use to avoid the scale like the plague, now you can't get her off of it.
Fruity-Tootie has a sweet tooth for fruit. She loves any kind of fruit, especially when it's in season and at it's peak ripeness. Even in the off season she enjoys frozen fruit, which can be as good, or even in some cases better than fresh fruit. She makes some of the best desserts with fruit. It's amazing the difference in calories of a fruit dessert compared to other desserts, and they are every bit as satisfying. A fruit dessert may have 100-200 calories. A non-fruit dessert may have 400-1000 calories, not to mention the fat. She has a big sweet tooth but she has learned there are different ways to enjoy desserts without packing on the pounds. She refuses to eat desserts that are loaded with calories for a few minutes of pleasure, although she will on special occasions. She doesn't want to spend hours trying to burn it off so it's better not to eat it in the first place. It's just not worth it to her. No wonder she doesn't have a weight problem, she has a good strategy that works for her. But, it wouldn't work for everyone. She weighs herself every week to make sure her weight is not creeping up without her knowing it. She doesn't like surprises!
Lifestyle change of the week!
Knowledge is power. When you know how much you weigh you can use that knowledge to lose weight. When you weigh yourself weekly, that tells you if what you are doing is working.
