Motivation Series - Fit as a Fiddle!

Are you fit as a fiddle or on your way to being fit? If you are trying to lose weight and get healthy, that is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It takes time so don't get discouraged when it doesn't happen overnight. Have a plan in place and then work the plan. Stick with it until you get the results you want. And don't be afraid to try something new if what you are doing is simply not working. Keep it real and refuse to live in a state of denial. Once you find what works for you, keep doing it and never ever give up. We are all a work in progress, some may have a head start but if you keep working at it, you just might pass them and become fit as a fiddle!

Motivating Tip
Be determined to get fit. There is really no reason not to be. The key ingredient in sticking with a program is to make it fun. If you are having fun and getting fit, that's a winning combination.

My name is Ms. Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: Don't Sit it Out!

Super-Size It Sally:

When I was busy super- sizing all my meals, I didn't even notice it was also super sizing me. Now, as I work to lose weight I have made some super changes. No more super- sized meals for me. And no more sitting on the sidelines watching everyone else's life while I ignore my own. No more sitting on the bench at the park while everyone is walking and getting healthy. No more wishing I could lose weight and wanting it more than anything in the world, except those donuts at Krispy Creme, man do I love those donuts. No more telling myself that I will start on Monday, I don't even like Monday's so why would I start anything on that day?

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough, and mean it. You have to decide you are going to get off the sidelines and participate in your own life. I use to tell myself I was just big boned and not overweight. I believed it until I realized nobody has bones that big. So I made some changes and now I can honestly say my bones are not big and neither am I.

Lifestyle change of the week!
It's amazing what can happen to our life when we refuse to believe half the stuff we tell ourselves. Actions speak louder than words any day of the week. So just start moving then keep moving in the right direction and one day you will arrive.

Saving money on food might cost you more in the end. Cheap food usually comes with cheap ingredients and may cheapen your health. You might be able to save some money but end up paying with your health. Your body is always in the process of renewing itself and uses the food you eat to do that. So if you eat bad food with bad ingredients you can expect bad health. After all, you really are what you eat, how could you not be?

Motivating Tip
You deserve the best food for your body. Don't settle for cheap food, it's cheap for a reason. It doesn't cost much to offer nothing of value.

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

Do This:

1.To lose weight - eat small and often.

2. To lose weight - eat at home instead of fast food.

3. To lose weight - eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

4. To lose weight - eat soup for lunch and save hundreds of calories.

5. To lose weight - eat whatever you want one day a week.

Not That:

1. Don't let yourself get so hungry you eat three meals in one sitting.

2. Don't eat fast food everyday if you want to lose weight. You can eat fast food or you can lose weight, but you can't do both.

3. Don't skip your vegetables - listen to your mother.

4. Don't eat heavy meals all day and expect to feel light.

5. Don't forget to take a day off from eating right, and eat wrong. Having one day a week to eat whatever you want makes it easier to eat healthy the rest of the week.

We all have to eat everyday and you really are what you eat, there is no way around it. So make most of what you eat healthy, then splurge!

Motivation Series - Calories In!

I was so hungry today I ate everything in sight. I couldn't resist and didn't even put up a fight. Everything I saw, I had to take a bite. I loaded up my plate the biggest one I could find and then ate all of it in record time. When it was all said and done I ate enough for four, and felt completely stuffed, right down to the very core. The food is gone now but the calories remain, they will be with me forever causing a life of pain.

Motivating Tip
When you are really hungry it is very easy to over eat and consume thousands of calories. The trick is, don't let yourself get really hungry, instead, eat every few hours throughout the day so that you are always in control of your hungry.
