1. A new way to  get fit is coming to a neighborhood near you!

2. Big snacks are a meal in disguise.

3. When you get off track go ahead and eat pizza, then make your next choice a salad.

4. To keep your motor running fuel up on the best ingredients.

5. Don't sit in park too long, it's bad for your health.

Motivating Tip
If your neighborhood doesn't have a place to get fit, and you want a snack before you go workout in disguise and all you see is a pizza place, go ahead and have a slice. You will be running if off at a track near you. Just don't sit in park too long after you get there and talk yourself out of it, that would be bad for your health. Don't forget to make your next choice a salad when you get back home.

1. Tomorrow May1, 2015 is the big announcement, it will be worth the wait. Follow us on twitter to hear it first.

2. Having a support system for losing weight is just what the doctor ordered.

3. Talk is cheap when your actions tell a different story.

4. If you gain weight while trying to loose don't give up, keep trying until you have a strategy that works for you.

5. Life may not be fair but that's life.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Tomorrow find a support system to help you loose the weight you gained. Then tell your story to the doctor on May 1st and follow the doctors orders. It won't be cheap but should be worth it. There is no need to put it off or wait because life is not fair to those you don't have a strategy that works. Whatever you do don't give up, keep trying to reach your goals!

Dear Diary:  My Coaching Session

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coach called everyone in for a "Big" announcement but she wouldn't tell us what it was all about. We all arrived on time with great anticipation for what was going on. For the first time in a long time no one was missing at this coaching session. Our coach called off everyone's name just to make sure - Chip-Bag Betty, Sweet-Tooth Twinkie, Soda-Pop Susie, Mary-Mac & Cheese, Fast-Food Fanny, little-Miss Salad, Whistle-Tea Wilma, Fruity-Tootie, Crockpot-Kate, and Polly-Popcorn. When she finished naming everyone it sounded like some sort of crazy food menu, we all laughed at the sound of it. But we just really wanted to hear what the announcement was all about, we were getting tired of waiting.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

At last check they were still waiting for that announcement. I think she was dragging it out on purpose, just to build excitement. I think it's safe to say everyone is excited!

When something big is about to happen, you can almost fill it in the air. It's like energy swirling all around that has yet to settle. It's a thrill to be a part of something big, it's even more of a thrill to be the one to create it!

Motivation Series - Snack Attack!

Are you hungry? Do you want a snack - chips, cookies, or maybe ice cream? How about some fruit, popcorn or yogurt? Any of those choices would make a tasty snack, but not all of them are the best choice if you are trying to eat healthy and lose weight. When a snack attack hits you, don't grab the first edible thing that moves. See what your choices are first, weigh your options, then decide. Keep in mind it's a snack not a meal, it shouldn't fill you up and out, just help curb your appetite until your next meal. The best snacks are the ones you have thought about in advance and prepared ahead of time for this very occasion when the snack attack hits. You are not caught off guard and left searching for food in a state of panic. when it does hit, strike back like you were expecting it and attack it with the perfect healthy snack, not a meal! 

Motivating Tip
A snack is only a snack if it's not a meal. And a meal can't be a snack because a snack is less than a meal that's why it's a snack. So don't snack on a meal and call it a snack.

Dear Diary:  My Coaching Session!


Super Size-It Sally:

We had a new member sign-up today for our coaching session. Her name is Sally-Salad, and she looked hungry like she had been eating carrots all her life. I wasn't even sure why she was here, she didn't look over weight to me. Maybe she was joining for the fun of it. If that is the case she came to the wrong place because there is very little fun happening here. It's all business, portion sizes and weighing-in, very serious stuff. I can't wait to see her jump on that scale, it probably won't even no she's there. I hate her already and she just got here.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

We all hate the skinny girl that thinks she's fat and needs to lose some weight. We would like to take her home and feed her pasta and fried chicken, with apple pie and ice cream for dessert. But that would be mean even if it sounds nice. Maybe she was just going for the support of other women, it could be a social thing for her and they say that is just as good for your health.

Lifestyle change of week!
We can all be supportive of each other. Everyone is different and so are there reasons for doing what they do. The only thing that really matters when it's all said and done is helping each other be the best they can be, whatever that is.

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

Do This:

1. Give yourself a well deserved break, and eat pizza.

2. Then get right back on track and eat a salad.

3. Give yourself a break and sleep in, skip exercise and be a couch potato.

4. Then get up early, work out and eat a potato don't be one.

5. That's what we call a balanced life, repeat often.

Not That:

1. Don't forget to have a treat day and eat what you want.

2. Don't make everyday a treat day if you want to be healthy.

3. Don't go without taking a break from your normal routine.

4. Don't take a break before you have a reason to.

5. Don't work without play, or eat without a treat.

Motivating Tip
A balanced life includes work, play, rest, and relaxation. It also includes a well balanced diet of good nutrition and your favorite treats. Life is nothing more than a balancing act and if you do it right, it all balances out in the end.

Page 31 reads: I don't understand why the more you try to lose weight the more you seem to gain. I have been working my butt off trying to eat better, walk more and do all the right things. But it seems like the more I try to lose weight the more I gain. Sandy couldn't figure out what was going on, what am I doing wrong she thought out loud to herself. She had forgot about her nightly treat of cookies and ice cream. In her mind she was starving herself.....

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 32 reads: Life is just not fair for the hungry at heart. I watched my friend eat what looked like the entire buffet, and she is skinny as a rail and never gains a pound. I look at a donut just a little too long and I can feel my thighs expand. Betsy complained to her friend about her weight looking for some sympathy. She didn't find very much because as she was talking she was crunching on potato chips between each breath.......

Lifestyle change of the week!
Life may not be fair, but all is fair in love and war. And, when you are ready to go to war on your weight, you have to make your words match your actions. There is no mystery to be solved in losing weight. If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain. It's really that simple.

Motivation Series - Fuel Up!

When you fuel up your car, what kind of gas do you use? What about when you change your oil, do you use a good grade and change the filter? Are you ever tempted to use the cheapest gas or oil, and skip the filter change? You might think it will save you some money and still run just fine. And, that might be true but chances are the way you take care of your car will show up sooner or later and it might cost you more in the end. Now, let's apply that same idea to fuel for your body. What kind of fuel do you use, is it the cheapest fuel you can find with the poorest ingredients? And what about maintenance, how do you maintain a healthy body? Do you take it for a spin around the block to get your motor running or do you sit in park too much? Do you get regular check ups just to fine tune any minor problems before they turn into something major?  Care for your car and body are the same in many ways, but when it comes to your body, the parts can't be easily reordered, repaired or replaced.

Motivating Tip
Taking care of your body is much like taking care of your car. If you forget to put fuel in it, it won't run. And, if the fuel you use is a bad quality the results won't be good, in fact it could even kill your motor. If you never take it for a spin around the block, it will get sluggish. If you let it sit in park too long it may not start at all. If you ignore small signs of trouble they could turn into big problems. The same is true for your body!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coaching session turned out to be a funny version of musical scales. Nobody wanted to get on the scale first, we all just kept circling the big bad scale until finally Soda-Pop Susie jumped on with both feet and her eyes closed tight, holding her breath. When the coach announced her weight, she was up three pounds and at least two inches. She said it must be water weight, and we all said no it must be soda weight. She drinks them like they are water, but we all know they are nothing more than liquid sugar. Our coach said if you plan to continue to drink soda everyday, you may as well stop paying me to help you to lose weight.  

Low-Calorie Lucy:

I think we are all still in shock that our coach just came out and said it - it's soda or losing weight, but you can't have both. But maybe it needed to be said, no point in watering it down, let's just tell it like it is. We all know it's true, but it still took us by surprise when we heard it out loud.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Despite what you have heard you can't have it your way. At least not when it comes to filling up on sugary drinks and hoping to lose weight. The math doesn't work and the numbers don't add up, no matter how you count it.
