A skinny diet is suppose to make you skinny, lean and toned. But what it really does is make you gain weight, turns your muscle to flab and your mind to fog. Why? Because most fad diets offer a quick fix that shock the body and put it into starvation mode. And when you have lost the weight in the form of water and muscle, it usually returns in the form of fat. The reason is simple, when you lose water weight it's just temporary and when you lose muscle you set yourself up to gain more weight that will be even harder to lose the next time you try to get skinny in a hurry because your muscle has now turned to mush. Mush doesn't burn fat, muscle does. And that is the skinny on diets that don't work but only make you gain more weight in the end, literally!
Fad diets offer a temporary fix for a long term problem. The fix usually leads to bigger problems that make weight easier to gain and harder to lose. That explains why we see more fad diets than ever before to get slim, but more obesity than ever before as the end result.
