1. Set a goal to find your strategy for eating health and exercising. Then work it like nobodies business but your own.

2. There are a lot of ways to do the same thing. The only way to find out the best way for you to eat healthy and exercise is to try something you haven't tried, do something you haven't done, to get the results you didn't see coming!

3. Don't be afraid to fail if you hope to succeed. That's usually what it takes to get it right.

4. The idea is to make sure your life is not one big splurge of favorite foods. Splurging should be a treat, not a way of life. Having a strategy will help you avoid making your life one big celebration of ice cream and cake.

5. Find a way to make exercise as easy as brushing your teeth. How many days would you think about skipping that? Exercise should not be hit or miss, make it a part of your regular routine. The idea is you don't think about it, you just do it.

Motivating Tip
Life is one big experiment, trial and error to see what works for you. It doesn't matter if something works for someone else if it doesn't work for you. Everyone is different and that's a good thing my friend. So, find that perfect strategy that makes eating healthy and exercising easy as apple pie!

1. When it comes to weight loss, hitting rock bottom can be just what you need to rise to the top of your game.

2. If you are eating for any other reason than hunger- step away from the food.

3. To lose one pound a week, create a calorie deficit of 3500 calories. Try cutting back 500 calories a day. Take 100 calories off every meal and snack. That adds up to two bites for most foods, 50 calories per bite.

4. If we keep going the way we are headed, most Americans will end up over weight or obese.

Motivation Series - EXERCISE STRATEGY!

Exercise your choice to exercise! If you find it hard to get your exercise in each week, we suggest putting a strategy in place that eliminates the need to think about it. When you have a strategy for exercise you know when, where and how you will exercise. You don't have to think about those questions because your strategy answers them for you. When you don't have to think about it, there is less of a chance it won't get done. Thinking too much can mean thinking yourself right out of exercise. Having a strategy helps you exercise your choice to exercise!

Motivating Tip
Having a strategy for exercise will help you get it done. Why not try to exercise in the morning, that way you will have it done early in the day before you lose energy and willpower. Or maybe the evening works better for you, after work. Whatever strategy works best for you and your lifestyle, work that strategy!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coaching session was all about strategies. Our coach said if we want to lose weight our job when we wake up in the morning is to create a calorie deficit for the day. We need to give our bodies a reason to use the fat our bodies have stored. If we create a calorie deficit that's when our body will burn the fat we have tucked away for a rainy day. If we don't give our bodies a reason to use the fat then we won't lose the fat. It takes a calorie deficit to use it and lose it.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

I learn something new everyday in our coaching sessions. I thought I knew it all but I never knew this simple fact of losing weight. If we eat enough food for our energy needs for the day then that's all our body will use. But, if we don't eat enough for our energy level for the day that's when our body attacks the stored fat and uses it for fuel. So, we have to create a calorie deficit for this to happen. The truth is, if we don't give our bodies a good reason to use the stored fat, it won't.

Lifestyle change of the week!
One way to create a calorie deficit is to cut back on everything you eat and drink. Eat the same but less of it, this will cause a deficit without even noticing it. If you cut back but don't notice any change in your weight, it just means you need to cut back a little more.

Motivation Series - My Eating Strategy!

I have my strategy down to a science. I have been doing it so long it is now a habit for me and easy as pie! My strategy is to eat mostly healthy during the week, then on the weekend eat what ever I want. A interesting thing happens when you spend most of the week eating healthy. When the weekend is finally here and you can pig out if you want to, you don't. Why? Because the less you eat junk food, the less you want junk food. I still eat what I want but I find I just don't want as much as I use to. My taste buds have changed as a result of eating healthier. You might say I have a more elevated palate now, so instead of craving fake food I crave the real deal and that's good for my body and my weight. That's my strategy and I'm sticking to it!

Motivating Tip
To find your perfect strategy try several different ways of eating healthy until you find the one that works for you. There are a lot of ways to do the same thing. What works for one person may not work for another but that is no reason to give up, keep trying. You have what it takes to figure it out.

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coach hit the nail on the head when she said life is too short to carry extra baggage around. It's too hard and wears you out. When you are carrying extra weight, you find yourself wanting to just sit down because you are too tired to do much else. The way she was talking I couldn't help thinking she was talking from experience. She said it with such conviction, like maybe she had been there and done that. I wanted to ask her if she had ever been over weight but I was too chicken, so I just sat there hoping someone else would ask her the obvious question.




Low-Calorie Lucy:

I have always wondered if people who are in the fitness industry are there because they have been over weight. I don't think that's a bad thing, in fact it could be considered a valuable asset because they had been there before and made it out alive. They lived to talk about it and share their personal story with the world. I think we could learn a lot from them. But, then there is the down side of that which is keeping that weight off at all cost. The pressure is on when you have taken the weight off and now with all your new found wisdom, advise other people on how to be successful. Sounds scary!

Lifestyle change of the week!
Losing weight seems to be the easy part, it's keeping it off that's challenging. Just remember when you lose weight, in order to keep it off you have to keep doing the things that helped you lose the weight in the first place. Don't let down your guard and go back to the way things were, or you will be right back where you use to be. You don't want to find what you lost waiting for you on the scale.

Page 48 reads: Debbie hit rock bottom and she knew it. She thought to herself- I can't keep eating like this but I can't seem to stop. Food has become my biggest fan and friend, it never let's me down. But at the same time it is my worst enemy, I hate it but I love those gooey cookies too. Debbie knew she had to do something, but what? One thing was for sure, she was not going to find the answer in that big bag of cookies, It was time for her to start looking some where else.,,

Page 49 reads: Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in order to come up from despair. Because it's not until you hit rock bottom that you realize something has got to change. You really have to do something different, you no longer have a choice. That's when things will start to change big time...

The first step in changing your life is to stop looking for comfort in all the wrong places. It's not in a bag of cookies, ice cream or chips. After you eat that, you will still be uncomfortable.

Do This:

1. Pick a strategy you can live with then live with it every week. You are worth the effort.

2. A strategy is a plan of action that will cause you to act in a health conscious way. Then listen to your conscious.

3. If you want a slim figure, figure out a healthy strategy that works for your beautiful self.

4. Eat what you need then use what you eat. That's a good strategy to live by.

5. Having a strategy makes your life easier, your weight lighter and your health healthier.

Do That:

1. Don't fail to have a strategy for good health if you want to be healthy.

2. Don't hope to succeed if you fail to plan your strategy.

3. Don't think you can't get fit, it's not as hard as you think, especially with a strategy.

4. Don't eat food you don't plan to use. If you use it you will lose it.

5. Don't make things harder on your health, by leaving your health to chance.

Motivating Tip
A strategy makes things simple, it takes the work out of trying to figure out what you are going to eat and when you are going to exercise. Those questions are answered with your strategy. Work your strategy so it will work for you!

Do you have a strategy for losing weight? If not you may be setting yourself up for a let down. Having a strategy puts you in the drivers seat and in control of your eating habits. A strategy is a plan of action that you have way before you plan to use it. It keeps you from being caught off guard, hungry with no food, a empty stomach that sounds like it's mad, an appetite that won't listen to reason and puts you at the mercy of the very first thing that looks like food but turns out to be fake. If you had a strategy you would have planned your meals before you needed to, cooked before you had to and ate before you got too hungry. A strategy helps you think ahead so you won't fall behind. It helps you eat healthy so you won't be unhealthy. It helps you lose weight instead of gaining and that's why it works!

Motivating Tip
A strategy is a plan of action that causes you to act differently, which causes you to eat differently and that causes a definite difference on the scale. Having a plan in place to work your strategy makes it easier to lose weight and keep it off. So find your perfect strategy, then practice it until it's perfect!
