                                               Delicious Diary Entry
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

1. For healthy food made easy use your Crockpot. Let it do the cooking for you.

2. When it comes to weight problems sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to rise to the top.

3. Perfect is boring, just do your best. That's good enough.

4. Don't be jealous of others success. Get your own, there is plenty to go around.

5. Super-Size It Sally, her name says it all.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Losing weight is not easy but it's easier than carrying the extra weight around all day. Get rid of it one pound at a time.

1. Don't give yourself excuses why you can't exercise, give yourself an excuse why you can.

2. Use exercise as medicine to help prevent disease. Instead of taking medicine, take a brisk walk instead.

3. Eat and drink using small dishes. It will help you eat less, drink less and weigh less.

4. Have a filler food, a low calorie food to snack on between meals.

5. When it comes to calories, if you don't use them you won't lose them.

Motivating Tip
Use these tips to help you lose weight. They work if you work them.

Motivation Series - The Battle of The Bulge!

"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Do you ever feel like you are in a war zone when it comes to food? Always fighting temptations to eat the wrong food, cooked the wrong way, and the wrong portion size.  Do you feel like you are fighting a losing battle? Does it really have to be this hard? No, it doesn't. You can improve your chances for success by knowing the tricks of the trade. Here are just a few proven tricks that work every time.

  • Have a filler food - this is a low-calorie food that you can eat when you need a snack, or after eating dinner with small portions, finish filling up by eating your low calorie filler food. The end result is the same, you will be full!

  • Don't drink your calories - save your calories for food, and drink water or hot tea instead of sugary drinks.

  • Order a to-go box - when you order your meal, order a to-go box. When you get your meal put half in the box before you start eating.

Motivating Tip
Eating half the food puts you ahead of the game when it comes to the battle of the bulge. Those are calories you don't have to burn because you didn't eat them. Most of us eat more calories than we can ever burn in a day. Less is more.

Motivating quote
"Half the battle in losing weight is eating half the food"

Delicious Diary Entry - Little Miss Perfect!

                                                   Delicious Diary Entry
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

My name is Ms. Delicious Diary, and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it, as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: Little Miss Perfect!

Super-Size It Sally:

Fast-Food Fannie was late for our coaching session because she was stuck in a line at the drive-thru window. I can't believe she is eating fast food on her way to a fitness program to get weighed. Talk about someone who needs some serious coaching. I am not going to say a word to the coach, she would have a fit. She doesn't look like she has ever ate a French fry in her life. Poor thing! She doesn't know what she's missing. I like my fast food too, only super-sized. But not on the way to my coaching session, maybe after the session.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Little-Miss Salad got her nickname because she loves salads. Some of her friends call her little Miss Perfect because she does everything right, almost perfect. I think they are just jealous because she makes losing weight look easy. Everyone around her is struggling to keep the weight off, and not eat the wrong food. And Little-Miss Salad doesn't seem to have a care in the world as long as she has the perfect salad.

Lifestyle change of the week!
If you feel a twinge of jealousy about your friend losing more weight than you, don't be jealous, be smart instead. Find out what she's doing, then try it yourself.

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super-Size It Sally:

Page 1 reads - If I hear one more word about weight I will let out a scream that will melt the fat right off me. I feel like I have been dealing with this issue my whole life. I have tried and retried everything in the book to lose weight and nothing seems to work for very long. Is it just me, or is it them? I think it's them, they don't know what they are doing. Their programs are flawed, it's impossible for a real human being to follow them forever. Maybe I will come up with my own plan, a real plan for real people that eat real food and live in the real world.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 2 reads - I was just about to give up, stop trying, and accept that I would always be overweight, out of shape and the biggest one in my family. But then I thought, why? Why do I have to always be this way? Why can't I change it, do something different and create a better life for myself? When I thought about it, there was no real reason, so I decided then and there to change it. And, I did!

Lifestyle change of the week!
Just because you have always done things a certain way, ate the same food, cooked the same way, doesn't mean you can't change it now. You can decide to change it today with your very next choice.

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

                                                    Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Do This:

1. If you don't like the word exercise, just move your body and call it something else.

2. Exercise is just another word for burning calories. Look for ways to move every chance you get.

3. Dancing is exercise in disguise. We recommend Zumba Fitness for a total body workout. It's fun and the music will keep you motivated.

4. Make exercise fun and you will never stop doing it. It will become a part of your life that you look forward to.

5. Exercise adds years to your life and can help prevent disease. What could be more important than that?

Not That:

1. Don't get hung up on the word exercise, it won't hurt you.

2. Don't forget to use the calories you eat so they don't stick to your ribs - literally.

3. Don't under estimate the power of dance and music to help you lose weight and get healthy.

4. Don't cut your life short by failing to exercise regularly.

5. Don't do exercise you hate, find something fun.

Motivating Tip
Exercise doesn't mean you have to join a gym. It doesn't cost a penny to put one foot in front of the other.

"The secrets out, exercise is in"

Delicious Diary Entry - Please Don't Label Me!

Dear Diary: Please Don't Label Me!

Super Size-It Sally:

At our last coaching  session we were all given some homework to do. We had to read the labels on everything we ate or drink for the next week. This was a eye opener for most of us and especially for Mary-Mac & Cheese. She couldn't believe the long list of ingredients in her favorite food - Mac & Cheese of course. Many of the words she couldn't even pronounce. But you can believe it won't stop her from eating her favorite comfort food. She did say she might have to start making it herself from scratch so she knows what's in it.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Crockpot-Kate reads labels like she is reading a good book. She knows everything she puts in her body because she cooks most of it herself. She usually starts with fresh healthy ingredients. In the past she ate whatever she wanted without giving it a second thought, until she started gaining lots of weight and the doctor labeled her obese. That was a bad day for her and she had not been the same since. She knew she had to make some changes fast. No more putting if off for another day, it was now or never. She cleaned up her eating habits and to her surprise the weight starting coming off. She says it was her trusty Crockpot that made it easier for her to cook healthy. She still uses it every week years later.

Lifestyle change of the week!
When reading labels, remember the information is per serving not per box. Pay special attention to sugar, fat and sodium. If you have two servings of that product double all the numbers listed.

Motivation Series - My Lips Are Sealed!

                                           Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Do you ever just want to put a pad lock on your mouth and seal it shut to keep you from eating? You are not alone, we all get frustrated with the whole good food, bad food thing. It's hard to resist all the enticements because there is food all around. We don't even have to go looking for food, it will find us. And, after it finds us, we can have it on the spot, no waiting no fuss, that is the mentality of the world we live in today. If you can see it, smell it or touch it - you can eat it. Just snap your fingers and like magic you can be eating any food your taste buds are craving. But wait, stop, don't do it! Take a deep breath, calm yourself and step away from the food. Before you take one bite, ask yourself - do I really, really, really want to eat this?

Motivating Tip
To be healthy we need to be selective in our food choices. One of the biggest problems today is not just too many food choices, but portion size. They are usually big enough to feed two or three people, and if we eat it all ourselves, we will become two or three people.

Motivating Quote
"To eat or not to eat, that is the big fat question"
