1. Don't eat for two people if you don't want to be one.

2. Eating with chopsticks instead of a fork makes it harder to eat fast. You will end up with less per bite.

3. Eat small, think small, be small. It all starts with the way you think.

4. Big mistake to eat on big dishes.

5. Weigh yourself once a week. It's a smart habit to start and will keep you one step ahead of the scale.

Motivating Tip
There are a lot of ways to eat less. Try new things to see what works for you and stick with it. The results will amaze you!

Delicious Diary Entry - Jello Jiggles!

                                              Delicious Diary Entry
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

My name is Ms. Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: Jiggle like Jello!

Super-Size It Sally:

Sweet-ToothTwinkie described a hilarious scene while we waited for our coaching session to begin. She said after finishing off a box of twinkies, she saw a chocolate chip cookie out of the corner of her eye. As she approached the cookie, it was warm to the touch, and smelled like heaven. She tried to walk away from it, but it was staring her down and as she looked at it, it looked like it had eyes made of chocolate. She said the more she looked at it, it took on a life of it's own, even calling her name. Finally, she starting backing away from it, She was almost out the door, then ran back grabbed it and devoured it in two bites and one big gulp. It was all over, the cookie won!

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Fruity-Tootie admits she use to have a big sweet tooth that was hard to satisfy. She finally got it under control after gaining lots of weight that kept moving long after she stopped. She said every body part jiggled like jello, she hated it enough to do something about it. She decided to replace those high fat desserts with fruit desserts that were low in calories and fat. She looked for delicious recipes that used fruit and found they were just as good as the other desserts if not better. She was hooked, and now her jiggle is gone.

Lifestyle change of the week!
If you have a sweet tooth replace some of your sweets with fruit. It will save you hundreds of calories and fat. For every piece of cake you eat, make the next dessert fruit. This one change will help you lose weight, so you can have your cake and eat it too.

Motivation Series - Trust Your Gut!

                                                        Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

We have all heard it our whole life - trust your gut! But why? Why should we trust our gut when our brain might be telling us the exact opposite? It's safe to say your gut is usually right. If you have a choice of listening to your mind or your gut, go with your gut. It might know something you don't. that your mind has forgotten. When it comes to your weight, if your gut is telling you, you can lose weight, trust it you can. If something inside you says - I can do better and I know it, believe it, you can. If your gut is telling you, it's time for a lifestyle change, then it is. You can trust it!

Motivating Tip
The truth is our gut knows best, and it can help us if we will listen to it. When your gut is telling you it's time to take better care of your health, it's right.

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 7 reads - I was having such a good day, everything was going my way. I started the day with a bang doing exactly what I planned. I went for a brisk walk around the block a few times enjoying the cool morning air. I returned home for my first cup of coffee that was timed perfectly to finish brewing the minute I walked through the door. I had already planned a healthy breakfast, no fast food biscuit for me today. I went to work with my packed lunch that I was so proud of. By the time I got home I was tired and hungry, but even that was no problem because I had prepared my dinners for the entire week. All I had to do was warm it up, how easy is that? But, as I was turning on the stove, the power went out. I couldn't believe it, there was no power, no lights, no hot food. I was so mad, I was already tired and hungry and just wanted my food that I had worked so hard to prepare. I waited and waited for the power to come back on but it was taking too long so I ended up eating cold leftover pizza, how's that for preparation.....

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 8 reads - Poor Mary she did everything right but still ended up eating cold pizza for dinner. Oh well, even the best made plans can get derailed. It's really no big deal, it's just one day in the life of many....

Lifestyle change of the week!
By taking time to make a plan and prepare food in advance you will save yourself thousands of calories by the end of the week. Even if things don't go exactly as planned, you will still be ahead of the game when it comes to weight loss.

Delicious Diary Entry - Bigger is Not Better!

Dear Diary: Bigger is Not Better!

Super-Size It Sally:

Chip-Bag Betty strolled in the coaching session with a bag of chips. She had no shame, no guilt and no intention to stop eating until every last chip was gone, including the crumbs in the corner of the bag. She didn't care who heard her crunching, not even the coach. And, then she wonders why she can't seem to lose weight, it's all very baffling to her, but not to everyone else. She complains about having to buy bigger pants, and swears the cleaners is shrinking her clothes. The real problem here are those chips, she always has a bag in her hand. But she seems to be in denial, so we will just let her stay there.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Polly-Popcorn's air popper has been working overtime. She came in dragging big bags of popcorn for everyone, but not everyone wanted it. We wanted to be a good sport and gave it a try and to our surprise it was really good. Everyone at the coaching session knows how much she loves her popcorn, she eats it everyday and calls it her filler food. I thought it must taste like cardboard without butter, but I was dead wrong. It had been sprayed with olive oil and sprinkled with spices. Turns out popcorn is a very healthy food without the butter. She said it only has about 120 calories per bag, about four cups, not bad. No wonder she stays so thin.  Polly wants some popcorn!

Lifestyle change of the week!
If you need something to crunch on, try air popped popcorn. It's a healthy whole grain snack. Just skip the butter and add spices instead.

Motivation Series - Weigh Too Much Food!

                                                          Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

How much is too much? What does too much look like? How does too much make you feel? Let's take one question at a time.

 1. Too much is more than you need.

 2. Too much looks like it was meant for more than one person.

 3. Too much makes you feel too full.

Too much of anything is not a good thing. And, when that too much happens to be food, well, that's too bad because it brings with it too many problems like - weight gain,  poor health, and a host of other problems that are too many to name. The moral of this story - don't eat too much!

Motivating Tip
There is no way around it, if you eat too much food, you will weigh too much on the scale. Eat less!
