Motivation Series - Monthly Review!

                                                    Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

1. Cookie monsters won't hurt you if you don't eat the whole bag. Take one and freeze the rest.

2. Writing your plans down is a visual aid to getting them done. It turns out, seeing is believing.

3. Stop eating before you have to. Don't stuff yourself with the wrong stuff.

4. Decide to change bad habits before the doctor tells you to. Usually, if the doctor gives you orders, that means you are running out of options.

5. Just start moving and see where it takes you.

Motivating Tip
To change something today, start a new habit or stop an old one. Either way it's a change for the better.

Motivating Quote
"Change before you have to."

"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

1. Let your body do the talking. When your habits are good, your body will show it.

2. Just say no to fat food so it won't weigh you down.

3. Food is fuel, not your friend.

4. Be hard on yourself so losing weight will be easier.

5. If you ate a lot today, eat a lot less tomorrow.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Eating too much one day is no big deal. Eating too much everyday will make you a great deal bigger. Eat less!

Delicious Diary Entry - Just Say No!

                                             Delicious Diary Entry
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

My name is Ms. Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: Just Say No!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coaching session was all about just saying no! No to the wrong food that packs on the pounds. Fast-Food Fannie loves her fast-food and she can't say no, it's just too hard for her to do. She says YES to all her favorite restaurants and the food that makes her happy. Last week she said yes to pizza, burgers, fries and milkshakes. This week she said she will try to do better, maybe she won't have the milkshakes.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

I have never liked the word No, it just makes me want it that much more. I prefer to say, not today instead of no. That seems to work better for me because it just means I may have it later, or maybe not. I have found that I pass on fast-food and junk food more and more. The less I eat it, the less I even want it. And when I get on the scale I weigh less, it's funny how that works out.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Sometimes you just have to say no to yourself and yes to your health. It might be hard at first, but it gets easier the more you do it. It's not as hard as it seems because every time you say no to bad food, it's a chance to say yes to delicious healthy food. Now what's hard about that?

Motivating Quote
"You may need to be hard on yourself to make it easier to lose weight."

Motivation Series - I'm Stuffed!

                                                         Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Help, I'm stuffed and I can't get up! If you find yourself over stuffed after a meal unable to move off the couch for hours, you might be turning into a couch potato. But, don't give up, keep trying to get up and ask for help if all else fails. Eating too much food leads to weighing too much on the scale, and that leads to other problems like feeling too tired to move off the couch. It's a vicious cycle of eating too much, then sitting too much then before you know it, it's time to eat again but only if you can get off the couch. So, the moral of this story is - eating too much will turn you into a couch potato.

Motivating Tip
It's hard to move when you feel stuffed. But that's when you need to move more. But how can you move when you are over stuffed? You can't, so eat less!

Motivating Quote
"A couch potato is usually over stuffed."

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

                                                  Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Do This:

1. If you are thinking about losing weight, write your thoughts down.

2. How much weight do you want to lose? Put it in writing.

3. What will you do to lose the weight? Be specific, then spell it out.

4. After you put pen to paper, post your plan where you can read it everyday.

5. When you finish thinking, planning and writing about losing the weight, just do it!

Not That:

1. Don't just think about it, get it out of your head onto the paper.

2. Don't know how much weight you want to lose, start small and keep going.

3. Don't try to lose weight without a plan and expect it to work.

4. Don't underestimate the power of the pen. Putting it in writing gets you one step closer to doing it.

5. Don't forget the most important part of your plan is putting it into action.

Motivating Tip
Don't over think it. Have a plan, write the plan, work the plan.

Motivating Quote
"It's all in your head until you put it in writing"

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 9 reads - Here comes the rain, I love it when it rains because I can shut my doors, windows, shades and anything else that will close and just go into my own world of food and private thoughts that most people would be surprised I had. It's funny how things can look so perfect on the outside, but inside, well that is a whole different ball game. I know my life looks perfect, and I might look and act so happy most of the time, but on the inside it's chaos, self doubt and feelings of just not being quite good enough. That's when food becomes my best friend, it comforts me and always makes me feel better, until it's gone......

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 10 reads - Food was always my first choice for comfort, until I realized it was not comforting me at all. Every time I was in need of comfort I reached for my favorite food and it worked, for all of two minutes, then the comfort was gone and I was left feeling guilty and miserable. I felt worse after eating comfort food. I decided I would find something else to comfort me that didn't leave me feeling uncomfortable afterwards. Now when I'm in need of some comfort instead of reaching for that bag of chips, I reach for my shoes and go for a walk, or turn on the music and dance like no one is watching. It works every time........

Lifestyle change of the week!
Food is not made to fill every hole in your soul. The truth is, it can't even if it wanted to. If you try and use it for that, it won't work because it's not really the answer. But, food can give you the fuel you need to figure out what will.

Motivating Quote
"Miss a meal if you have too, but don't miss a book."

Delicious Diary Entry - Talks Cheap!

Dear Diary: Talks Cheap!

Super Size-It Sally:

At our coaching session today we all had to sit through a pep talk designed to make us take a hard look at how we live. Mary-Mac &Cheese said she was thinking about her next meal the entire time, until she heard the coach say - actions speak louder than words. Well, if that old saying is true I don't stand a chance. I may as well throw in the towel, burn my gym shoes and order a large pizza with extra cheese for good measure. When I'm talking about my exercise plans I fully intend to do them, but when it's time to do it there is always a reason why I can't or won't. My intentions are good and I know what I need to do, and not do. I need to stop eating so much fast food and get more exercise, that sounds simple enough, It's just really hard to do.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

I use to spend at least 40.00 a week on fast- food, junk food, and everything in between. And the fast food was really fast, I got it fast, ate it fast and gained weight fast. No wonder they call it fast- food. I knew I had to change something or nothing would change. Now I may have fast-food a couple of times a month. I'm saving money and my health. I got tired of hearing myself talk about my weight and decided to do something about it. Now I don't say a word, I let my weight loss do all the talking.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Sometimes silence is golden. When it comes to weight loss, there is no need to speak when you can let your body do the talking. And that my friend is the best conversation in the world.

Motivating Quote
"Talks cheap when you are spending a fortune on junk food."

Motivation Series - Cookie Monster!

                                               Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

We have all heard about the cookie monster, and now we know why they are called monsters. Cookies are monsters because too many of them make us gain weight. The very smell of cookies makes some people gain weight, or so they say. And, even looking at cookies can have the same affect - said the lady who just ate twelve in one sitting. The point here is you can eat a cookie or any other sweet treat, just not all at the same time. So go ahead and have that cookie, take one then step away from the bag.

Motivating Tip
The best way to avoid eating the whole bag of cookies is take one out then throw the rest in the freezer. It's hard to eat frozen cookies. But if you find yourself up one night trying to eat rock hard cookies, this blog can't help you, you are on your own sister!

Motivating Quote
"If just looking at cookies makes you gain weight, imagine what eating them will do"
