Motivation Series - Monthly Review!

                                                  Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

1. Make sure you are not eating because something is eating you.

2. When you are hungry it's too late to plan your meals, you will eat anything that moves. The best time to plan your meal is when you just ate a meal.

3. Everyone loves fast-food because it's hot and ready to eat. You can do that at home by cooking ahead of time.

4. It's easier to keep weight off when you lift weights.

5. If you are hungry for something other than food, don't use food as a substitute.

Motivating Tip
The average person lives less than 30,000 days. What you eat everyday can add or take away from that total. Now that is food for thought!

Motivating Quote
"Since life is so short, you don't need extra baggage."

"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

1. When your doctor tells you to lose weight for your health, follow the doctors orders.

2. If you are running out of options, opt to change what you eat and what you do.

3.  Weight loss programs are a dime a dozen, the one that works 100% of the time is eating less and moving more.

4. The secret to sticking with your diet is to tell a blabber mouth. When everyone knows you are trying to eat healthy and exercise, that is motivation to succeed.

5. There are a lot of different ways to lose weight, one way to find out what works for you is to try new things. What do you have to lose beside weight?

Lifestyle change of the week!
Every time you try and fail at weight loss, you are that much closer to finding out what works for you. Never give up, keep trying!

Motivation Series - Fat-Free Weights!

                                                 Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

To get rid of fat, lift weights. That's right, lifting light weights a few times a week can build muscle and burn fat. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn. Here at Motivated2Move we love the Kettlebell to build muscle. Why? Because it is the perfect tool to build muscle and get some cardio all at the same time. If you are short on time, then you will love this little gem called the Kettlebell. In a short 20 minutes you can knock out a workout and be done with it. We recommend buying a Kettlebell with a DVD to learn how to use it properly. The Kettlebell has been around for ages, and is still one of the most effective tools available for weight loss.

Motivating Tip
You can burn up to 400 calories in a 20 minute workout all while building muscle with a Kettlebell. It's small, travels well, and can be used almost anywhere. It will help you keep your muscle, build more muscle and stay fat-free!

"Free weights make you fat-free."

Delicious Diary Entry - Blabber Mouth!

"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

My name is Ms. Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: Blabber Mouth!

Super Size-It Sally:

Chip-Bag Betty can't keep a secret if her life depended on it. I told her I was going to try a new diet and I didn't want anyone to know what I was doing, especially our coach. As soon as our coaching session starts she blabbers to everyone that I am on a diet so I can't eat some of the food the coach told us to eat. I wanted to tape her mouth shut on the spot. Our coach said not to worry about it because one of the best things you can do when you are on a diet is tell your friends. It just might help you stick to it when you know everyone is watching what you like a hawk.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Polly-Popcorn said she was able to break her chip eating habit by telling everyone she was going to switch chips for healthy popcorn. It was hard at first, but now she doesn't think twice about it. She said what helped her the most was knowing she told everyone, she felt like she had to do it now because everyone knew.

Lifestyle change of the week!
When it comes to weight loss, we suggest telling everyone you know. That's right, be a blabber mouth! The more people you tell the better. When everyone knows you are trying to eat better and exercise more, they will be watching. That one fact will help you stick to it until it becomes a habit.

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

                                                   Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Do This:

1. Plan your meals and snacks for the week. Take the time the payoff will be huge.

2. Plan your grocery list for the week. Take the time it will be worth it.

3. Shop for groceries for the week. Take one trip to the store, you can do it.

4. Cook the groceries in one day, in just a few hours for the entire week. You can cook a meal on top of the stove, in the oven, and in the Crockpot all at the same time.

5. Eat the groceries that you planned, shopped and cooked for the week. Lose weight and stay healthy!

Not That:

1. Don't wait until you are hungry to decide what to eat. You will be too hungry to care.

2. Don't wing it all week, plan ahead and save thousands of calories, loads of fat and enough sodium to save your heart.

3. Don't shop for groceries at the drive-thru window. You have a better selection at the grocery store.

4. Don't forget to cook the food you bought so you won't need take-out.

5. Don't forget to eat the food you cooked, just heat and eat. Now that's what we call fast-food.

Motivating Tip
You have to eat, you may as well eat healthy. Cook meals at home for best results, that way you know what you are eating and better yet, you know what you are not eating.

Motivating Quote
"The best take-out is cooked in."

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 13 reads - I signed up for a new weight loss program but I'm already having regrets. Mrs. Williams was very nice and said all the right things, but the things she wants me to do is unreal. I'm suppose to measure and weigh everything I put in my mouth. And as if that's not enough, after I finally get it in my mouth, I'm suppose to chew it very, very slowly. I told my best friend I'm ready to quit and I haven't even started yet.......

Low Calorie-Lucy:

Page 14 reads - If you are tired of starting over, stop quitting. Those were the words I saw on a bumper sticker in front of me at a stop light. Well, a light bulb went off in my head. I was always quitting, it was a habit I had and I don't even know when it started. But, I was determined to stop quitting what I start. I decided  to start this new way of doing things right after I quit this crazy weight loss program I just started......

Lifestyle change of the week!
It's alright to try new things until you find what works for you. But, if you find yourself quitting before you even give it a chance, you may want to try and stick it out. If you find it's really not for you, then move on. When it comes to weight loss, there is one sure program that works 100% of the time - eat less and move more.

Motivation Series - Stop Eating!

                                                    Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Stop! Step away from the food. Eating is a favorite pass time. We eat because we're happy, sad and everything in between. We eat at gatherings, holidays and every other celebration known to man, or woman. We eat because we are hungry, and don't stop when we are full. We eat because we are bored, or just because it's there. We love to eat, we have to eat, we should eat, but we should not eat too much. When we eat too much it can ruin our chances of ever eating again.

Motivating Tip
Stop eating when you are satisfied but not full. Start with small portions on your plate. Studies show we usually eat everything on our plate, so start with less.

Motivating Quote
"Stop eating before eating stops you."

Delicious Diary Entry - Out of Options!

Dear Diary: Out of Options!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coach asked us a rather personal question today. She wanted to know what made us decide to get help losing weight? No one was in a hurry to answer it so I jumped right in to get the ball rolling. I said my doctor gave me some bad news about my health. He said I was diabetic and needed to lose weight to get it under control. When I heard this I was scared to death, I thought my life was over. The first thing I did when I got home was look for help to lose weight. I realized I was out of time, I needed to do something now. I was running out of options.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Before Little-Miss Salad became so Little-Miss Perfect, her doctor gave her a wake-up call. She ate more junk food than anything else and gained a lot of weight. For years her idea of grocery shopping was going through the drive-thru window. But those days are gone now and so is the weight.

Lifestyle change of the week!
A wake- up call is designed to wake you up to a new way of doing things. If what you have been doing is not working for you, the first step is to be willing to try something different. It might be just what the doctor ordered!
