1. Good health is yummy for your tummy, looks good on your plate and great for your weight.

2. Making half of your food choices healthy is easy as apple pie.

3. Think of all the calories, fat, sodium and sugar you don't eat when you decide to make the switch to healthier options.

4. Move it to lose it, then repeat often.

5. Eating healthy is a mind-set. Get your mind right and your body will follow.

Motivating Tip
Good health starts with healthy food choices and that starts with your mind-set. Then include a body on the move to help you lose. Switch bad food for good food that doesn't have a lot of fat, calories, sodium and sugar. You can still have food that's yummy for your tummy just make healthier choices then repeat often.

"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

1. Humor yourself with funny weight loss stories, they make the journey easier to laugh at yourself.

2. The best way to keep the weight off is to take a day off from watching your weight, counting calories, measuring, weighing, adding, subtracting and just eat.

3. Welcome a wake-up call, house call or phone call from your doctor because it could be the call to change that changes everything.

4. Mix half with healthy to weigh half as much on the scale. It works every time.

5. If you love to eat you will love the way we do it here at motivated2move. We have strategies that let you eat what you want, weigh what you like and look good doing it.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Life is a mix of the good, bad and ugly. The best way to keep weight off is have more good than bad using strategies that work for you. And that means watching your weight even though you love to eat. Counting calories or weighing and measuring, what ever works for you, then take a day off. But don't take too many days off or the doctor may have to give you a wake-call that you won't welcome and may cause you to hang up the phone if you don't like what you hear.

What would happen if you made half of all your food choices healthy? Your whole body would be a whole lot healthier. It's not hard to do with a little practice. Here's how it works -  if you had a soda with your meal, the next meal drink water. If you had dessert after dinner, skip dessert after dinner tomorrow. If you had a big breakfast, have a light lunch. If you had chips with your sandwich today, have a apple with your sandwich tomorrow. I think you get the picture. By making every other choice healthy you save yourself thousands of calories, fat, sodium and sugar. And that feels yummy for your tummy!

Motivating Tip
Choices add up fast and furious and show up on the scale whether you step on it or not. You can make a huge difference in your health and weight by making every other choice healthier than the last one. Try it today!

Delicious Diary Entry - My Coaching Session!

My name is Ms.Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: My Coaching Session!

Super-Size It Sally:

Raise your hand if you are tired of weighing-in, measuring food, and wanting something you can't have? Everyone's hand went up in a flash when our coach asked that not so tricky question. Of course we are tired of it all, we are just hungry so feed me! This was so funny because our coach even admitted she is tired of talking about it too. Well, if that is the case why are we here, shouldn't we be some where eating something yummy?

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Not so sure what was going on at our last coaching session but we loved it. Finally real talk about real food that we wanted to eat. We are mad and not going to take it any more. But that didn't last long, it turned out our coach was just testing us, and no we didn't pass the test. I guess it's time to get back to the real world where you do need to weigh-in if you are going to stay ahead of the scale, watch portion sizes so you don't eat too much in one sitting and not satisfy every food craving that comes calling.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Sometimes humor is a way to make light of a serious subject like weight. It helps to not take yourself too seriously and laugh all the way to the weigh-in. Keep a sense of humor while losing weight and find the funny in it all, it's usually not hard too find. Keeping the right attitude is half the battle in reaching your goals.

Motivation Series - Eating In, Eating Out!

                                                   Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Eating out is always fun to do, it means you don't have to cook but you still get to eat. It also means you will eat more calories, fat and sodium. One way to limit how often you eat out is to skip it half the time. If you ate out today skip it tomorrow. If you ate out this week skip it next week. If you had appetizers the last time skip it this time. If you ate the entire meal this time, take half home in a box next time. If you treated yourself today, skip the treats tomorrow. This is what we call saying no to yourself half the time to feel good about yourself all the time.

Motivating Tip
Get in the habit of making half of all your choices healthy to be a whole lot healthier at the end of the day. It is very empowering to take control of your choices and making at least half of them healthy looks really good on the scale. You get to see what your choices are doing to you and you will like what you see!

Dear Diary: My Coaching Session!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coach started the session today by saying take a day to eat like a pig. What, are we hearing right, did she just tell us to eat like a pig and don't worry about our weight. That is my kind of coach, suddenly I love her. Soda-Pop Susie nearly fell out of her chair. Does this mean we can eat what ever we want and won't gain weight? Our coach said no, but it does mean you can take a day off from eating right to eat what ever you want. This is one of those tricks of the trade that help you eat healthy most of the time when you know you will have a day to pig out.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

It turns out our coach was right about taking a day off to pig out. I was looking forward to it all week and it really did help me stay on track because I knew I would be able to have that day off. It was real motivation for me to eat healthy the rest of the week. It made me feel like I wasn't denying myself my favorite foods and that felt really good.

Lifestyle change of the week!
A big part of eating healthy is taking a day off. It's that day off that helps you stay on track. So don't be afraid to take a day to pig out.

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

                                                        Motivation Series
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Do This:

1. To make half your food healthy, switch half your sour cream for Greek yogurt. You won't even notice the difference. Look for others way to make food healthier.

2. If you switch half your food for healthier options you will save thousands of calories, lots of fat, tons of sodium and loads of sugar. It's a switch worth making.

3. You are going to love making at least half your food healthier because you lose weight, feel better and look amazing. What's not to love?

4. Eat your way to better health by being a picky eater. You deserve the best quality food so be selective. Don't be afraid to be a fussy eater, you are worth the fuss.

5. You are 100% what you eat, so eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, nuts, and beans. Eat processed foods only as a last resort. They have a long shelf life so leave them on the shelf.

Not That:

1. Don't eat chemicals disguised as tasty food. Know what you are eating and make at least half of it healthy.

2. Don't pile on the calories for the sake of flavor. Anything will taste delicious with a ton of sugar or sodium added.

3. Don't hate healthy food, change your mind-set and start hating foods that make you unhealthy.

4. Don't eat the first thing that crosses your plate. Be choosy, fussy, picky and selective.

5. Don't think you are not 100% worth the effort to eat better, take care of your health and look down right yummy!

Motivating Tip
Eating healthy is a mind-set, and a mind-set is something you can change. Start by feeding the mind on the right food for thought. Then that will help you feed your body right. And before you know it, your mind-set will change to healthy eating and you will start making healthier choices. Then you will look back at the way you use to eat and wonder - what was I thinking?

"Half the battle to eat right is what you feed your mind."

Dear Diary:  My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 37 reads: It had only been one week since I got the news from my doctor that I am obese. I thought I would die when he uttered those awful words. How could that be, I thought to myself and when did that happen? How did I get here and more importantly how do I fix it? Those were all the questions running through my head at lightening speed. I really couldn't believe what I was hearing, and I didn't want to hear anymore. I instantly started to hate my doctor, like it was all his fault. I even found myself thinking his scale must be broke and I never wanted to see him again....

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 38 reads: Barbara needed time to process what she heard. So many emotions from shock to anger and everything in between. She even found herself wanting to blame someone else for her weight issue. But then she realized it was all on her. Something strange started to happen with that realization, if it was all on her then that meant she could change it. Her first step in that direction was to get moving and eat foods worth eating...

Lifestyle change of the week!
Sometimes getting a wake-up call from your doctor is just what the doctor ordered. It can be a game changer for a lifestyle change. Bad news can be good news in disguise. When you realize you have to lose weight for good health, you should run with it.

"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

Why do you have to move it to lose it? Because not moving is not an option for a fit body. It takes activity to burn calories, other wise the calories just sit in storage waiting to be used. If you don't use them you won't lose them no matter how hard you try. But the good news is you get to choose where, when and how to put those calories to good use, so why wait? Start today to move in the direction that promotes good health, a fit body and a happy mind! They are all connected, take care of one take care of all. It's your choice and the next move is on you!

Motivating Tip
A body in motion is pure poetry. Poetry in motion is worth a thousand words and a picture perfect move helps you lose.

Dear Diary: My Coaching Session!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coach had a healthy suggestion for us to try. She wanted us to switch at least half of our food ingredients to healthier options. She let us in on her little secret for losing weight. She eats all the things she loves but only half as much, and the best part she said was you don't really notice the difference in taste. Just about anything you eat can be made healthier by taking half out and replacing it with a healthier option. That was a interesting concept for us, but one that we were not so sure we wanted to try. We all just looked at each other and the look on our face was the same - where does she get these crazy ideas?

Low-Calorie Lucy:

So the first time I tried this new idea of replacing half my food with healthier options I was skeptical. But I have to say I couldn't really tell the difference in the taste, and it's all about the taste for me. I'm always looking for new ways to eat better while still enjoying my food because I can't eat food that taste like paper. I need flavor or it's not going down without a fight. It turns out this is a very clever way to eat healthier without tasting it.

Lifestyle changes of the week!
One of the best ways to find out what works for you and what doesn't is to try new things. When something works keep doing it, make it a part of your new lifestyle. Do this enough times and you will find the strategy that is a perfect fit!
