1. You can eat anything you want, just not all in the same day, at the same time, on the same plate. '

2. For all the food you can't have while trying to lose weight, there is even more food you can have.

3. A passing fad diet is a fad for a reason, they don't last long and neither do the results.

4. Don't be discouraged by a diet that didn't work for you, they don't work for most people. Try a lifestyle change instead by joining our club!

5. Motivation helps you do the things you don't want to do, until you start wanting to do it. When you are motivated it's easy as pie to eat healthy and exercise.

Dear Diary: My Coaching Session!

Super Size-It Sally:

My coaching session was all about what not to eat. I prefer sessions that are about all the foods we can eat. I don't like feeling denied of my favorite foods, it makes me angry and puts me in a bad mood, especially when I see Ms.Skinny Minnie eating everything under the sun and never gaining a pound. She can still fit in her skinny jeans and doesn't even have to suck in her stomach. That's not fair!

Low-Calorie Lucy:

I say don't hate the messenger or in this case the coach, she is just doing her job. I can understand how frustrating it can be to always have to watch what you eat so you don't gain weight, when some people don't have to watch anything and still look like a million bucks. But that's just the way it is, life is short and it's not always fair. Everyone is different, their bodies are different so you just have to see where your sweet spot is when it comes to a comfortable healthy weight for you and do your best to keep it there.

Lifestyle change of the week!
Use your energy to figure out what works best for you and your body. Don't waste your precious energy trying to figure out how to eat a box of donuts and still stay slim. You are much better off trying to figure out how to not want that box of donuts in the first place.

Motivation Series - Do This, Not That!

Do This:

1. Watch your calories if you don't want to watch your weight.

2. If you eat too many Skinny products you won't get skinny. Any product will make you weigh too much if you eat too many.

3. A fad diet that makes you lose weight super fast will make you gain weight even faster when the fad is no longer a diet.

4. Changing your lifestyle works better than changing from one fad diet to the next.

5. Your body loves you when you take good care of it and give it what it needs to take good care of you.

Not That:

1. Don't think calories don't add up if you don't count them, your body keeps tabs so should you.

2. Don't eat too much of anything, just eat a little of everything.

3. Don't do fad diets if you want to lose weight and get healthy.

4. Don't change fads hoping for a better diet.

5. Don't forget to take care of your most precious asset, your body. You only get one.

Motivating Tip
Don't let fads fool you into thinking you can lose weight super fast, super easy and super quick, all while eating super-sized portions. The only thing super about a fad diet is when the fad ends and the diet is over.

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 41 reads: I really thought I could do it this time, lose the weight and keep it off. Dina tried it and it worked for her so she told me to try it. It worked for a few months then I started gaining weight again. I was devastated, I couldn't believe I had fallen for another quick fix diet that promises you the world only to leave you weighing more on the scale. I was wondering what did I do wrong, it must be me and not the diet. But then I saw my friend a few months later and she looked just like me. She had gained all her weight back and more. I am almost ashamed to say it but I felt better because this meant is wasn't my fault...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 42 reads: Paula learned the hard way that just because you think something is true, doesn't make it true. The diet industry wants you to think their fad diets will work and the ads are true, if you think it will work their job is done. After all it's easy to believe you can take a pill and lose weight but still eat what ever you want and never exercise. It doesn't take much convincing because that's what we want to believe. Poor Paula, she had tried every diet on the planet and they didn't work for long but she still found it hard to resist all the promises of easy weight loss because that's exactly what she wanted to believe...

A skinny diet is suppose to make you skinny, lean and toned. But what it really does is make you gain weight, turns your muscle to flab and your mind to fog. Why? Because most fad diets offer a quick fix that shock the body and put it into starvation mode.  And when you have lost the weight in the form of water and muscle, it usually returns in the form of fat. The reason is simple, when you lose water weight it's just temporary and when you lose muscle you set yourself up to gain more weight that will be even harder to lose the next time you try to get skinny in a hurry because your muscle has now turned to mush. Mush doesn't burn fat, muscle does. And that is the skinny on diets that don't work but only make you gain more weight in the end, literally!

Our coaching session was all about fad diets. Our coach said fad diets make you fat not skinny and that really got our attention. Most of us were on one of those fad diets so we all felt guilty, like she was talking directly to us. Sweet-Tooth Twinkie could not keep a straight face. The rest of us just sat there and looking innocent and surprised by her comments. Even though we all are the first to try any new fad diet that promises to get rid of the fat fast. We know most of them don't work even with a 30 day money back guarantee. So why do we keep falling for them? Because we hope one day, one of these diets might accidentally work and just might be the secret to weight loss, that magic pill we have all been waiting for.

I gave up on the magic pill a long time ago after I realized the more fad diets I tried the more weight I gained.
