1. Starve the fat, feed your soul. You will eat less when your soul is full.

2. Your comfort food should not make you uncomfortable in your own skin.

3. Gain more muscle to lose more fat. Muscle burns more calories, keeping the weight off and helping you stay slim and trim.

4. Include healthy fats to slim down. Fat is not the enemy but your friend.

5. Eat healthy most of the time, splurge sometimes then add exercise. That's the perfect combo for a healthy lifestyle.

Motivating Tip
Feed your soul before you eat to get full faster. This will help you feel more comfortable in your own skin, and it will also help you not eat too much which would make you uncomfortable. Then be sure to lift weights to gain and keep your muscle which will help you burn more fat,and that's what will help you slim down. Since fat is really your friend, who needs enemies telling you all fat is bad for your health and will make you fat. Good fats are good for you, especially when you eat healthy most of the time, splurge sometimes then add exercise.

No fat, fat free and low-fat might sound like fat is the enemy, to be avoided at all cost but the truth is fat is your friend and necessary for good health. The key word here is - "Good" fat, like olive oil and coconut oil. These fats help your body in many ways, from protecting your cells to reducing your risk for heart attack and strokes and promoting a healthy lifestyle. And, if you ever heard that fat makes you fat, that all depends on what kind of fat you are eating and how much. And, truth be told, it's not just too much fat that can make you fat but too much of anything can make you fat. It turns out the right kind of fat in just the right amount is just perfect!

Motivating Tip
Fat has 9 calories per gram so you don't want to eat too much of any kind of fat including the good ones. Just remember, everything in moderation and that even includes fat my friend!

My name is Ms.Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Super Size-It Sally:  

Page 55 reads: What happened to you? Those were the first words I thought but wouldn't dare say out loud when I bumped into Tammy at the local farmers market. I mean, I did not recognize her, it took me a few seconds to realize this was the same Tammy I went to college with and that use to be rail thin. Well, she is not rail thin now, anything but. All I wanted to know was - What happened to her? What had she been eating all these years...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 56 reads: Tammy must not have heard that you really are what you eat. I can look at you and tell what you usually eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Because what you eat in private always shows up in public no matter where you go. And it really is true, if your habits are good your body will show it. We are the sum total of all our habits day in and day out. Tammy seems to have lost her way, and could use a little help...

Lifestyle change of the week!
Anybody can change their eating habits. You start by taking one bad habit and replace it with a better one. For example, replace soda with lemon water. Start with a few times a week and work up from there. What you will find is the less you drink sodas the less you want sodas and that's when things get easier. Because it is not hard to do the things you want to do.

Do This:

1. To lose weight create a calorie deficit. That's when you will burn the fat as fuel.

2. Cut calories by eating less and moving more. This combination works better than doing one or the other.

3. To lose one pound a week cut 3500 calories. To do this make all your portions smaller.

4. To cut 3500 calories in a week, eat 500 calories less a day.

5. The secret to weight loss is there is no secret. It's calories in and calories out.

Not That:

1. Don't eat too many calories for your energy level. The rest is stored as fat.

2. Don't just cut calories to lose weight, try to move more too.

3. Don't eat big portions full of big calories, they are too hard to burn

4. Don't eat more if you want to weigh less.

5. Don't give up!

Motivating Tip
One of the best ways to lose weight is eat less and move more. One of the best ways to do that is to eat smaller portions then take a walk. Try starting out with less on your plate and see if that is enough. Studies show we usually eat everything on our plate even after we have had enough.

Is your soul hungry for something but you don't know what? Is there something eating at you? If your answer is yes, you are not alone. It turns out people are starving for something besides food. But they often find themselves trying to force feed it food anyway. It doesn't work because you can't satisfy a hunger with food, when food is not the answer. You have to find out what you are really hungry for in order to ever hope to fill it. So the next time you get  really,really hungry, ask yourself - what am I hungry for?

Motivating Tip
If you are starving but can't get full, chances are you are not hungry for food at all. Look for other ways to fill the hunger, and you will not only get full but satisfied too.
