                                                   Delicious Diary Entry
"A healthy dose of motivation with a twist"

My name is Ms.Delicious Diary and my job is to see how my clients are really doing when it comes to their weight loss journey. My favorite clients are Super Size-It Sally and Low-Calorie Lucy, along with their close knit group of friends. They all have their own way of dealing with their issues, and the funniest nicknames to prove it as you will see as you read their diary entries each week. I hold the key to the diary in this special little green bag. My fingers are itching to unlock the diary and see their weight loss or gain, and check their delicious food entries.

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-Sally:

Page 69 reads: Chrissy had a long hard day at work and was feeling a bit over whelmed with all the things she had to do. Her to do list was growing by the minute and she just wanted to rip it to shreds. But, she decided to take out her frustration on a bag of Oreo cookies in her cabinet, it was all but over now. She started with two and just kept going back for more and more and more but she could not find any comfort in that bag of cookies no matter how many she ate.....

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 70 reads: We all no what comfort eating looks like and it's usually not pretty. It's not so bad if it only happens occasionally, but if you find yourself doing it often, that is not good. Try looking for other things that bring you comfort and have them in place and ready to go when you need them. Don't wait until you need comforting to find something to comfort you. Think ahead and plan ahead so you won't end up eating for all the wrong reasons....

Lifestyle change of the week!
Planning ahead is a game changer for almost everything in life. When you plan ahead it changes the outcome to a positive one. Planning ahead for those times when you need comfort will prevent you from turning to food as your first choice.

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 67 reads: Tammy wondered why she had to watch every bite of food while her best friend shovels down pizza's, fries and burgers but never gains a pound. It doesn't make sense to her if what all the dietitians say is really true. All I have to do is look at a cookie too long and I can feel my thighs expanding. I wish someone could really tell me how this weight thing works...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 68 reads: It's not rocket science although it may seem like it when comes to weight loss or gain for that matter. Tammy failed to realize each person is different, there is no one size fits all. Genes are different, bodies are different, lifestyles are different which makes all of us unique in our own way. The key is to try different ways of doing the same thing until we stumble on what works for us...

Lifestyle change of the week!
The first step in finding out works for you is to be willing to try new things. Because if you keep doing what you have always done, you will only get what you have always got. And that is not rocket science my friend!

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 63 reads: Mary-Mac & Cheese went to the gym this morning to work off some of her favorite food. She knew if she pigged out over the weekend, she would have to hit the gym hard if she did not want to gain weight. So she made a verbal agreement with herself that if she had a pig-out day she had to go work it off, no excuses. She honored her own agreement even though she wished she had never made it...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 64 reads: Little-Miss Salad is tired of being little miss perfect when it comes to eating right. She can't take any more lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers even if they are fresh and in season. She wants something that will stick to her ribs, like a whole rack of ribs dripping in BBQ sauce that will fill her up and has staying power for a change...

Lifestyle change of the week!
Eat everything in moderation to have a healthy lifestyle. Depriving yourself of all the foods you love will only create a strong desire for that food. And eventually you will give in and eat all those foods you have swore off as bad, bad food. After all if food tastes that good, how can it be bad right, right!

Dear Diary: It's Not Fair!

Super Size-It Sally:

Fast-Food Fanny is not a happy camper after stepping one foot on the scale only to watch the number shoot up like a stalk of celery. She thought because she had skipped her fast food place last week it would show up on the scale this week. She was so disappointed and even got mad the more she thought about it and said it's just not fair.By the time she left her coaching session she went straight to get her favorite fast food meal and refused to feel guilty about it. She is going to teach that scale a lesson...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Crockpot-Kate ate delicious fast meals all week right from her Crockpot. She cooks in that pot almost every week on Sunday to prepare for a week of healthy eating that taste yummy! She loves cooking that way because she is in control of what she puts in her food. She doesn't put too much salt, sugar and fat in her food because there is no need for it. As a result, when she steps on the scale she is always pleasantly surprised to see her weight is right where it should be, no surprises...

Lifestyle change of the week!
If you don't like to cook or don't have much time or energy to cook dinner after work, try cooking in your Crockpot so food is waiting for you when you get home. You don't need to find yourself in the fast-food line when dinner is ready!

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 61 reads: Crock-Pot Betty was so excited about her new crock pot she just bought that had gadgets to make her life easier. I thought to myself, how much easier can cooking get. You put the food in the pot and push on, done! The food comes out like gourmet you would find at a five star restaurant. She just doesn't understand why more people, especially busy working women with little time and energy don't use their Crockpots more often. I know they have one hidden away somewhere. Maybe that's the problem, they are hidden away - out of sight, out of mind...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 62 reads: Fast-Food Fanny can't stop eating fast-food nor does she want to, she eats it everyday. It taste so good and it's so easy to get, you don't even have to get out of your car and she doesn't. She pulls up, orders up and eats up, it happens so fast she doesn't even remember eating, but her body does because that's when it goes into panic mode trying to process all the processed food she just ate. She tried the Crockpot thing but even that was too hard for her because when she wants food she wants it now! The Crockpot was just too slow for her taste...

Lifestyle change of the week!
The trick to eating healthy is preparing ahead of time so when that hunger hits it is no surprise. You already know what you are going to eat and most of the time it is not fast-food. It is just as easy to eat healthy food as it is to eat fast-food if you plan ahead. If you plan to eat dinner, put food in the Crockpot in the morning so dinner is ready and waiting for you. That is the best fast-food you will ever have. The Crockpot is genius and anyone who uses it regularly is a genius too!

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 59 reads: Chip-Bag Betty just could not believe that she had gained all the weight she lost back again. How does this keep happening after every new diet, gym membership, detox and starving myself. What does a girl have to do to lose a few pounds and keep it off? Should I just eat what I want and forget about weight, but that sounds like I'm giving up and I am not ready to do that. It's so frustrating to keep losing weight and think you have it all figured out, then you let down your guard for one minute and the weight is back with a vengeance...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 60 reads: The best advice I ever received was don't go on a diet unless you can live like that forever because the minute you go off the diet the weight comes back. It's true, if you want to keep the weight off that you lost on the diet, you have to keep doing what did to lose the weight. It's that simple...

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 57 reads: Life is too short to worry about my weight, at least that's what Tammy has been telling herself for years. She decided she would just live her life and except that she is big boned and not over weight. Well, that's a funny way to look at things, but the elephant in the room was getting bigger by the minute. Did she really believe that was the root of her problem - big bones?...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 58 reads: The things people will say to convince themselves that the extra weight is not extra at all. It's just a pile of bones weighing them down. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but bones, no matter how big are usually not the problem. And, using that as an excuse for extra weight will only prevent you from losing the weight, because after all, no one wants to lose their bones...

Lifestyle change of the week!
The first step to losing weight is to realize what the problem is so you can do something about it. If you are not sure what is causing your weight gain, keep a diary of your habits for a couple of weeks and see if you can spot the problem. I suggest you write down what you are eating and not just how many calories but how long it would take to work off those calories. If you are not doing the activity to work off what you are eating, then you will see why you are gaining weight.

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 55 reads: What happened to you? Those were the first words I thought but wouldn't dare say out loud when I bumped into Tammy at the local farmers market. I mean, I did not recognize her, it took me a few seconds to realize this was the same Tammy I went to college with and that use to be rail thin. Well, she is not rail thin now, anything but. All I wanted to know was - What happened to her? What had she been eating all these years...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 56 reads: Tammy must not have heard that you really are what you eat. I can look at you and tell what you usually eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Because what you eat in private always shows up in public no matter where you go. And it really is true, if your habits are good your body will show it. We are the sum total of all our habits day in and day out. Tammy seems to have lost her way, and could use a little help...

Lifestyle change of the week!
Anybody can change their eating habits. You start by taking one bad habit and replace it with a better one. For example, replace soda with lemon water. Start with a few times a week and work up from there. What you will find is the less you drink sodas the less you want sodas and that's when things get easier. Because it is not hard to do the things you want to do.

Dear Diary: My Coaching Session!

Super Size-It Sally:

Our coach was missing in action today so we all just got started without her. She was running late so we took advantage of that and had a little fun with all her weight loss tools including that big bad scale and the tape measure that always ends up in a tangled mess in the corner. We all hate to see them coming, they make us feel that we can't measure up no matter what we do.

Low-Calorie Lucy:

It's all in the way you look at it, you either love them or hate them. But, the scale is not the enemy, it just reports the facts. So we should look at these tools as something that is there to support our efforts in losing weight and getting healthy. I have learned the hard way if I wait too long to weigh myself, I might be shocked when I get on the scale. But, if I weigh myself once a week, then there is no surprise because it will just be a few pounds up or down and it's not a big deal, literally!

Lifestyle change of the week!
We encourage you to embrace anything that can help you get fit and healthy. Whether it's a scale, measuring tape or a food diary, use the tools as an aid to reach your goals!

Dear Diary: My Book Club Chat!

Super Size-It Sally:

Page 53 reads: I thought everything was going to be alright now, I was wrong. But it was a brand new year, and I was on a brand new diet that was not working. And, to make matters worse, I was gaining weight instead of losing. They promised me I would lose weight if I just stopped eating. But Mary found it hard to eat those tiny portions you could barely spot with a magnifying glass. She was hungry and wanted food, that was all she could think about. Finally, one cold winter day she gave in to all her cravings and she just ate, and ate and ate...

Low-Calorie Lucy:

Page 54 reads: It's no fun to walk around hungry all the time. I don't think you should give up eating your favorite foods just to lose weight. Mary's problem was she just ate too much of the wrong thing. I tried to warn her about that but she did not want to hear it at the time. She was in a bad mood from being so hungry all day and tired of fighting the urge to eat this and not that...

Lifestyle change of the week!
Most people who struggle with weight need to switch the way they eat. Instead of eating the wrong kind of food most of the time, and healthy food sometime. They need to eat healthy food most of the time and junk food sometimes. Problem solved!
